American man shot to death at restobar

BACOLOD City – An American man was shot to death at a restobar in Barangay 5, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

He was the 57-year-old Eric Hendrickson of the American state of Iowa, a police report showed.

Hendrickson – who is residing at Saint Francis Gate 7 Subdivision in Barangay 4, Silay City,
Negros Occidental – sustained gunshot wounds on the head, the report further stated.

He was brought to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City where attending physician Dr. Mel Alexis Serondo pronounced him “dead on arrival.”

It was around 10:10 p.m. on Tuesday when the shooting happened, police said.

Hendrickson was drinking at the restobar when an altercation ensued between him and Gilbert Apellido, 40, of Talisay City.

Apellido was binge drinking at the restobar with his nephew, the 18-year- old Silay City resident Neil Brian Corseno.

Hendrickson went out of the restobar to transfer to another table but Apellido followed him.

Apellido then shot Hendrickson on the head using a .38-caliber firearm, police said.

Apellido and Corseno fled after the shooting but a few minutes later they were arrested by
officers from the Silay City police station.

They were detained and facing murder charges. Charges for violation the election gun ban were also filed against them./PN
