ILOILO City – A 68-year-old senior citizen accused a 19-year-old man of raping her on Saturday night in Anilao, Iloilo.
According to the complainant, before the rape they had a drinking binge in the house of a common friend.
By around 10:30 p.m., the elderly woman decided to go home. The 19-year-old suspect volunteered to take her home.
However, according to the senior citizen, when they reached a thicket of bamboos he raped her and fled afterwards.
The Anilao police launched a manhunt yesterday against the young man after learning what happened to the senior citizen.
The victim was hospitalized in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo because she was bleeding.
Police Corporal Felinilyn Gumban, deputy chief of Anilao police station’s Women and Children Protection Desk, said they would wait for the result of the senior citizen’s medical examination before taking further action./PN
