BACOLOD City – Another patient at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) took his own life by jumping from the fourth floor of the hospital’s West Tower building on Saturday night.
Authorities declined to identify the 66-year-old male patient who was in the hospital due to “laryngeal new growth.”
The patient was also reported to be suffering from depression.
Based on official information released by the police, the patient’s 26-year-old child went out to buy medicine.
Police have also interviewed another patient and a watcher in the same room where the victim was confined, and they said the victim suddenly closed the door, broke the glass window using a steel stool and jumped out.
This was the second time that a patient at the CLMMRH committed suicide. In January a patient being treated for coronavirus disease 2019 jumped from the fifth floor of the same hospital building./PN
