SAN JOSE, Antique – All is set for the two-day medical mission at the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH) here slated Jan. 30 to 31.
The “One-Time, Big-Time” medical mission will be conducted by the joint medical team from the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRRMMC) and the ASMGH.
Provincial information officer Galileo Magbanua on Wednesday said 12 patients would undergo major surgery while 28 others are set for minor surgery.
“Patients who will undergo major surgery have been admitted at the ASMGH already for their necessary pre-operation procedures,” Magbanua added.
He said on the eve of the medical mission, three doctors from the JRRMMC have arrived in the province to attend to the patients.
“The three advance party doctors are specializing in pediatrics, pathology and radiology,” Magbanua added.
Around 10 to 20 doctors from the JRRMMC were expected to arrive for this “One-Time, Big-Time” medical mission for sick and indigent Antiqueños.
Aside from those who would undergo major and minor surgeries, 11 other patients will undergo cataract operation while 70 others need dental assistance.
“The dental patients will also be given their needed dentures for free,” Magbanua said.
The free medical mission was organized by Gov. Rhodora Cadiao and Lone District Rep. Loren Legarda.
Cadiao said through this medical mission, Antiqueños who could not normally afford to pay for their medical bills could avail of the services of specialists for free.(With a report from PNA/PN)
