ANTIQUE — The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) of Antique has maintained a Blue Alert Status in all Provincial, Municipal, and Barangay Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) as Super Typhoon “Bavi,” locally named “Inday,” threatens to affect parts of the country.
Under PDRRMC Memorandum No. 18, Series of 2026, dated July 8, Gov. Paolo Everardo S. Javier, PDRRMC chairperson, ordered all disaster response units to remain on heightened preparedness due to the anticipated adverse effects of the approaching typhoon.
The memorandum directed all Municipal and Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (M/BDRRMOs) to maintain full operational readiness, activate Early Warning Systems, closely monitor high-risk areas, and undertake pre-emptive measures to safeguard lives and properties.
Provincial Response Clusters, the Incident Management Team, and the Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) Core Group were likewise instructed to continue monitoring the weather situation, assess potential hazards, and ensure the availability of emergency resources for possible deployment.
Authorities said the Blue Alert may be raised to Red Alert should weather conditions worsen, subject to succeeding advisories, risk assessments, and directives from the National, Regional, and Provincial DRRMCs.
The PDRRMC also urged residents to monitor official advisories from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and the Office of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (OPDRRMO) of Antique.
Residents were advised to prepare family emergency plans and go bags, secure their homes and important documents, follow the instructions of local government and barangay officials, and be ready to evacuate if necessary. The public was also reminded to avoid spreading unverified information and rely only on official sources.
The OPDRRMO said it continues to closely monitor the weather disturbance and remains ready to respond to any emergencies brought about by the expected impact of Super Typhoon “Inday.”/PN
