SAN JOSE, Antique – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has already downloaded an amount of P375,636,000 under the social amelioration program (SAP) to be given to 71,656 family-beneficiaries in 17 out of 18 towns in this province affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
According to DSWD assistant secretary Rhea Peñaflor on April 17, the municipalities have already submitted the required documents for the funds to be downloaded.
The following were the amounts downloaded to the 17 towns of Antique:
*Anini-y – P15,768,000
*Barbaza – P17,346,000
*Belison – P11,256,000
*Bugasong – P24,336,000
*Caluya – P28,584,000
*Culasi – P29,160,000
*Hamtic – P34,614,000
*Lau-an – P18,936,000
*Libertad – P12,072,000
*Pandan – P26,820,000
*Patnongon – P26,082, 000
*San Remigio – P19,410,000
*Sebaste – P12,726,000
*Sibalom – P43, 668,000
*Tibiao – P18,918,000
*Tobias Fornier – P26,772,000
*Valderrama – P9,168,000
She said the towns of Libertad and Belison already made the payout to
their SAP beneficiaries last week.
This capital town, meanwhile, is now coordinating with DSWD to release the
payout to its family-beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, Peñaflor said that as per advisory they received from DSWD’s
secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista, the barangay health workers, daycare
workers and village watchmen have also been included as target beneficiaries of
the SAP.
“The Department of the Interior and Local Government has sent a letter
requesting to include barangay health workers, tanods (village watchmen) and daycare workers as target
beneficiaries of the SAP. That is why they have been included already,” she
said.
However, the new target beneficiaries would still need to prove that their family members belong to the informal sector and could not earn a living due to COVID-19.
“The barangay health workers, tanods, and daycare workers should also show that they belong to the vulnerable sector,” she said.(With a report from PNA/PN)
