Arevalo ‘tanod’ fired gun?

ILOILO City – A village watchman was accused of indiscriminately discharging a firearm while responding to a rumble.

Marlon Arzaga of Barangay Sooc, Arevalo was arrested at 9 p.m. Sunday.

A villager, Joelly Villasis, reported to the police that Arzaga fired a gun three times during a rumble between two groups, a police report stated.

Responding officers arrested Arzaga but failed to recover any firearm.

Arzaga denied firing a gun. All he did was respond to the rumble, the barangay tanod claimed.

Detained at the Arevalo police station, the village watchman faces an alarm and scandal charge./PN
