AKLAN — Aklan State University (ASU) suspended all classes, work, and office transactions at its main campus in Banga on Monday, January 12, after receiving a bomb threat sent by an unidentified individual through a Messenger account.
In an official advisory, the university announced the suspension of all academic and administrative activities, including enrollment, effective January 12 and until further notice, citing security concerns and the need to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff.
University officials said they have immediately coordinated with law enforcement authorities to verify the credibility of the threat and to implement appropriate safety and security protocols within the campus.
ASU emphasized that the safety of the university community remains its top priority as authorities conduct verification and inspection procedures.
Meanwhile, the ASU Information Office advised the public to refrain from going to the main campus until a new advisory is issued by the university administration.
