ATASHA Muhlach is Annie Batungbakal!
On Instagram, theatre production NWR Musicals announced that Atasha will play the titular role in “Bongga Ka ‘Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical.”
In the post, Annie was described as a “creative, spirited, generous and lovable young woman in her early 20s.”
“As a dispatsadora (saleslady) at House of Pasion, Annie dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Her ambition drives her desire to be part of the Coco Banana circle, but her lack of authenticity initially keeps her from being fully accepted,” the caption read.
During a press conference streamed by Viva Artists Agency, Atasha admitted she became emotional upon learning that she had secured the lead role.
“First reaction, tears of joy. Kasi parang full circle moment sa akin kasi nagsimula po ako sa theater,” she said.
Aside from Atasha, the musical will also star Sparkle artists Jeff Moses and Anthony Rosaldo.
“Bongga Ka, ‘Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical” will feature Hotdog’s music.
Atasha made her theatre debut in 2011 as Brigitta von Trapp in the theatre musical “The Sound of Music.” (GMA News)
