BACOLOD City – Beginning this week, the city government will expand its pediatric vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) to 27 barangays.
Inoculation of children aged 12 to 17 years old is ongoing in malls and at the Riverside Medical Center.
According to Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical, data analysis and management of the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF), the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) would help in the master-listing of vaccinees.
Meanwhile, this city remains a top-performing local government unit nationwide in the ongoing vaccination campaign of minors.
Based on the Department of Health’s (DOH) records, Bacolod had the highest number of vaccinated Pediatric A3 (children with comorbidities) at 813, said Dr. Edwin Miraflor Jr., officer-in-charge of the City Health Office.
Bacolod also has the most number of vaccinated ROPPs (rest of pediatric population) at 2,653 – for a total of 3,466 minor vaccinees (as of Nov. 6).
During the nationwide launching of the pediatric vaccination on Oct.29, this city had the highest number of minors inoculated at 299./PN
