Bacolod City’s Vocational Sheltered Training Center opens to 8,000 PWDs

BACOLOD City – The Department of Social Services and Development opened its Vocational Sheltered Training Center to service persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the city’s 61 barangays.

According to DSSD head Pacit Tero, the center located in Barangay Mansilingan will provide capability trainings to around 8,000 PWDs.

Tero said the center is a big help for the Home for the Blind members.

“They don’t have to go to a mall to offer their services, the center will cater clients for them.” she said.

The training center has a massage room, where the PWDs can accept customers.

Tero said , a P250 fee will be charge  for those who want to avail themselves a whole body massage service.

She noted the P50 will be allotted to the common fund for the center’s maintenance and the remaining P200 will go to the PWDs as compensation to the services they rendered. /PN
