Bacolod DRRMO building mulled

BACOLOD City – The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) eyes the construction of its new building in the city.

DRRMO head Dondon Parandas said on Tuesday they are preparing its perspective plan with the City Engineers Office for the approval of Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

“This is to place all the sections of DRRMO in one facility” said Parandas.

Parandas is proposing for a facility where all DRRMO’s sections are all in one place and everything will be organized.

He noted the budget will be taken from the Quick Response Fund (QRF) of the DRRMO, which is 30 percent and was not used since 2012.

“Our plan is to situate the building on a vacant lot at the reclamation area owned by the city government,” the DRRMO chief said.
Parandas added this is also in compliance to the protocol of DRRM national office.

“If the city mayor will approve our proposal, this will be a major project for DRRMO,” he said./PN
