BACOLOD City – The city government here is offering a P100,000 cash reward for anyone who can provide credible information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the death of a 17-year-old girl whose body was discovered in the Reclamation Area, Barangay 12.
The victim’s name was withheld as she was a minor. Her body was found in a grassy vacant lot, with her hands tied behind her back and the lower part of her body unclothed.
Mayor Greg Gasataya condemned the incident, calling it a “heinous crime,” and announced the reward through his official social media page.
“To intensify our pursuit of justice, the City of Bacolod is offering a P100,000 reward to anyone who can provide credible information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this heinous crime,” he stated.
The public may directly coordinate with the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) through BCPO director Col. Joeresty Coronica for any relevant information.
City officials strongly condemned what they described as a “cruel and despicable act” committed in the BREDCO Port (Reclamation Area), which claimed the life of an innocent minor.
“What transpired is beyond reason and demands swift, decisive, and uncompromising justice,” the mayor stressed.
He also extended condolences to the victim’s family and assured them of the city’s full support.
“We are extending every possible form of assistance and support as we move with the family in the pursuit of truth and accountability,” he said, adding that the local government has coordinated with the BCPO “to exhaust every resource and pursue every lead until those responsible are found and made to answer for this crime.”
“No one capable of such cruelty will ever find refuge in our city,” he added.
The mayor further said Bacolod stands “united in grief, outrage, and unbreakable resolve to protect every life and ensure that such cruelty will never go unpunished on our soil.”
Initial police investigation revealed that the victim sustained bruises and injuries of undetermined causes. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Authorities said the victim was a Bacolod City resident who had been temporarily staying in a boarding house at the time of the incident./PN
