BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) approved the appointment of lawyer Edward Joseph Cuansing as city administrator following Em Ang’s resignation on Oct. 6.
Cuansing assumed the post effective Oct. 13, according to Councilor Dindo Ramos, chairman of the SP committee on laws.
Cuansing formerly served as secretary to Mayor Evelio Leonardia. He also had stints at the City Legal Office from 2011 to 2013.
Meanwhile, Ma. Victoria Parreñas, head of the Bacolod Housing Authority, is the concurrent acting secretary-to-the-mayor.
Ang resigned from her post after filing her certificate of candidacy for councilor under Leonardia’s Grupo Progreso.
However, she is still the executive director of the Emergency Operations Center./PN
