BACOLOD City – The city government’s second Bacolod Express Service Office (BESO) is now open at the third floor of Ayala Malls Capitol Central here.

Inaugurated on Monday, Dec. 18, the satellite office will operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

The BESO stands as a centralized service center, meeting diverse needs of Bacolodnons, including permit processing, land tax payments, senior citizen ID processing, and other essential services.

It was on Sept. 12, 2022 when Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez and Maria Sharon Ciocon, mall general manager, inked a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on this, in which the city will use the 427-square-meter area for free but it has to construct the offices and install furniture and other amenities.

“Way back 2022, after a year and few months we have made this a reality… If there is a SuperCity, there is also a super way in transacting in the City of Bacolod,” said Benitez during BESO’s launch.

The city mayor said they will be pioneering online services through this satellite office.

“This is where we will be orienting residents on how to do transactions online. We will have more facilities here… The reason why we wanted it to be here because we would like to make it more convenient, more comfortable and hopefully, more efficient,” he added.

The offices that will occupy the BESO include the Department of Social Services and Development, Local Civil Registrar, Population Commission, Office of the Building Official, Business Permits and Licensing Office, Local Economic and Investment Promotions Office, Public Employment Services Office, Bacolod City Police Office, Bacolod Traffic Authority Office, City Treasurer’s Office, City Tourism Office, City Health Office, and several national government agencies.

In June this year, the city government’s first one-stop-shop government center was opened on the third floor of SM City Bacolod./PN
