Bacolod police unit heads reshuffled

BACOLOD City – Unit commanders of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) have been reshuffled for failing to reach their target output.

The reshuffling took effect Dec. 23, said Senior Police Officer 4 Ma. Liberty Indiape of BCPO’s Public Information Office.

“Police officers are relieved from and transferred to other stations” to provide “better police service to the people,” added Indiape.

Aside from failing to reach the target output policy, the reshuffling was also due to the arrival of two police commissioned officers in Bacolod.

Indiape said they must be designated to “positions commensurate to their present ranks.”

“The said reshuffling is but a normal undertaking in the Philippine National Police,” she added.

Police Station 1 is now headed by Chief Inspector Jovel Sedel, who replaced Senior Inspector Romulo Gepilango.

Gepilango now leads Police Station 5, replacing Chief Inspector Carmelo Nermal, who was reassigned as BCPO’s administrative/human resources officer.

Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag, on the other hand, was assigned as the commander of Police Station 3.

Culanag, the former chief of Police Station 8, was replaced by Chief Inspector Charles Gever.

Senior Inspector Armily Vargas, former deputy chief of Police Station 4, took over Gever as the head of Police Station 10.

Police Station 6 now has Senior Inspector Elmer Bonilla as it new commander.

Bonilla replaced Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman, who was assigned in the BCPO Mobile Force Company.

BCPO’s former spokesman Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana now leads Police Station 7, replacing Chief Inspector Ramel Sarona.

Sarona and former Police Station 3 commander Senior Inspector Victor Paulino joined Benoman in the Mobile Force Company.

Moreover, Superintendent Adonis Rosales, former head of BCPO’s Police Community Relations Section, is now the officer-in-charge of the Mobile Patrol Group.

Superintendent Allan Macapagal, deputy city director for administration, led the turnover ceremony for the new set of station commanders.

In his message, Macapagal – who also serves as the acting director of BCPO – urged his personnel to “do better, be more productive and instill discipline and respect” among their fellow police officers.

He added that they must also be up for the challenge “to perform their best” in the anticrime campaign of the BCPO./PN
