BACOLOD City — Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS) capped a strong international campaign with a podium finish, blanking Central Region, 4-0, to capture the bronze medal in the 2026 Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington.
Representing the Asia-Pacific region, the Bacolod softball girls saved one of their finest performances for the battle for third place, riding Faith Tamba’s shutout pitching and a steady defense to secure the bronze against elite young softball teams from around the world.
Tamba was dominant from the pitcher’s circle, keeping Central Region off the scoreboard throughout the contest while giving BCNHS’ offense enough room to build and protect its four-run advantage.
The Bacolod defense complemented Tamba’s work by shutting down Central Region’s scoring opportunities and preserving the lead until the final out.
The victory provided a fitting conclusion to BCNHS’ World Series campaign and underscored the Bacolod squad’s ability to compete against some of the best junior softball teams from different regions.
Several players also delivered important contributions during the Asia-Pacific campaign, including Angel Chua, Joliefeb Diaz and Chantal Entira.
Their performances helped strengthen the Asia-Pacific squad throughout the tournament and contributed to BCNHS’ successful run in the prestigious international competition.
The bronze-medal finish marked another milestone for Bacolod softball, which has continued to produce young athletes capable of competing at the national and international levels.
Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya congratulated the BCNHS softball girls, recognizing the hard work and sacrifices behind their podium finish and their representation of Bacolod City, the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region.
