BACOLOD City – The city government has so far spent P97.5 million of its Bayanihan grant for its coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) response.
Imelda Williams, City Budget Office (CBO) head, said the city has P21 million left from the P119-million Bayanihan Grant given by the national government in April as augmentation fund for various programs needed to address the pandemic.
Williams recently submitted a fund utilization report (as of Sept. 30) to the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP).
The city government’s COVID-19-related expenses included maintenance and operating expenses like welfare goods and medicines; medical, dental and laboratory; materials; rent; representation expenses and repairs.
The allocation also included property, plant and equipment expenses like medical equipment and buildings and other structures.
According to Councilor Renecito Novero, CBO’s explanation of the Bayanihan fund utilization was “very clear.”
