Bacolod’s ‘inasal’ festival slated May 24-26

BACOLOD City – Get ready to savor the flavors of the City of Smiles as the city gears up for the highly anticipated Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival from May 24 to 26.

With the theme “Inasal Goes Global”, the festival aims to showcase Bacolod’s iconic chicken inasal to the world.

With a vision to create platforms and portals for both global and national audiences, the festival is poised to celebrate Bacolod’s rich culinary heritage, particularly its famous chicken inasal, and vibrant culture like never before.

The city government allocated P2 million for the festival that would be staged in three venues: Megaworld-Upper East, SM City Bacolod, and Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

Among the events lined up for the festival are Food Tasting & Beer Pairing, Barangay Inasal Cook-Off & Workshops, Bacolod Chicken Inasal Awards, The Dance Challenge & Modern Movement Competition, and The Chicken Inasal Global Beats Competition (Street Dance).

Meanwhile, applications for concessionaire spaces start on May 3.

Interested applicants  are advised to go to the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival Office at the Central Hall of Ayala Malls Capitol Central from 10 a.m. on May 3.

The requirements are the following: special permit from the City Health Office; P5,000 payment for tent rental and other fees for 10×10 feet space for three days; P3,000 security bond for each slot obtained; payment for the special permit; and brown envelope to secure the documents./PN
