Bacolod’s PLD to crackdown establishments sans biz permits

BACOLOD City – The Permits and Licensing Division (PLD) conducted an on-going business permit inspection to establishments in the city.

“We will focus inspecting businesses with pending complaints,” said PLD inspector II Reah Rom, who started examining establishments on Monday, March 18.

She said they have been receiving complaints against businesses like internet shops and videoke bars operating without permits.

Rom noted the Joint Inspection Team has yet to announce their schedule but two PLD personnel already started checking establishments in the city.

“The inspection is our initiative to address the rising complaints,” Rom said.

She said they will start inspecting businesses with expired permits as soon as they already examined the establishments in Barangays Villamonte, Mansilingan, Bata, and Taculing.

The PLD recorded around 20,000 registered business establishments in the city in the first quarter of 2019.

“Last year we have registered 24,000 business establishments, so only few business owners have yet to renew their permits” Rom said./PN
