‘Balik Eskwela Diskwento’ in Guimaras nets P296T in sales

GUIMARAS ISLAND – To ease the burden of consumers especially students and parents this school opening, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Guimaras Provincial Office conducted the 2018 “Balik Eskwela Diskwento” caravan before the opening of classes officially kicked off.

The “Balik Eskwela Diskwento” in-store activity was conducted from May 15 to 31, offering five to 30 percent discounts on school supplies, school bags, school shoes, umbrellas, plastic wares and RTW (ready-to-wear) products.

Some participating outlets even gave out freebies to customers.

The sale was participated by eleven business establishments, namely: Gaitan Island Supermart, Kaye & Kim Marketing, Galtz Pharmacy, The Pitstop Restaurant, 2-K Mart in Jordan; AJM Grocery Enterprises, Aimer Grocery and School Supplies, Jeremiah Construction Supply in Buenavista; V-Mart, LJ Island Variety Store and JLM Store located in Nueva Valencia; and, JLM Store in Sibunag.

Consumers were encouraged to avail discounts though the Diskwento caravan to save money, time and effort in buying their school needs. Sales generated from this activity reached P296,222.35, serving 993 consumers./PN
