KALIBO, Aklan – A drug pushing suspect in the town of Banga, Aklan was arrested during a buy-bust operation on Thursday.
Around 12 p.m., the Banga Special Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Police Inspector Joey delos Santos and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) collared the 39-year-old Babylon Meneses, a resident of Barangay Jumarap.
Meneses was the No. 3 in the drug watch list of Banga police. Last year, he surrendered to authorities during the Oplan Tokhang campaign for his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Meneses was caught after he handed a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer in exchange for P1,000.
During the body search, the operatives also seized a sachet of suspected shabu.
In Boracay Island on the same day, a suspected drug pusher was nabbed in an antidrug operation in Barangay Manoc-Manoc.
Kenneth Minio from Joyao-Joyao in Numancia and temporarily staying in Manoc-Manoc sold a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 to a poseur-buyer, according to Chief Inspector Rogelio Tumagtang, Jr., team leader of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.
When collared, Minio also yielded three more sachets of suspected shabu.
Joint elements of the Boracay Tourist Assistance Center and PDEA Region 6 also joined the operation.
Both suspects will be charged for illegal possession of illegal drugs before the Aklan Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Kalibo, Aklan. (With Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
