BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), conducted a simultaneous logistical readiness test for the May 9 national and local elections.

Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, director of BCPO, led the activity on April 27, at the BCPO Parade Ground.

It was spearheaded by General Dionardo Carlos, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief at the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The logistics and equipment were tested for their readiness for the coming elections. It includes patrol vehicles and motorcycles-for mobility; firearms; and communication radios.

The activity aims to ensure the sufficient number of equipment and logistical support of the PNP that will bring successful handling of security preparations during the elections and prevent the occurrence of activities that might disrupt the coming elections, BCPO added.

Martir reiterated the message of the PNP Chief to his personnel to always adhere to professionalism and observe discipline in the conduct of respective tasks for a safe, honest and orderly conduct of elections in coordination with other government agencies.

“The cooperation of the public is also encouraged as a crucial element in the peaceful exercise of elections with the guidance of the Almighty,” he said./PN
