BACOLOD City — The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized nearly P12 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested three high-value individuals in two separate buy-bust operations, marking one of the city’s biggest anti-drug hauls this year.
The biggest haul came from separate buy-bust operations conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), resulting in the arrest of three high-value individuals (HVIs) and the confiscation of about 1.75 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P11.9 million.
According to BCPO Director Col. Eugene N. Rebadomia, the first operation was conducted at about 11:43 p.m. on July 2 in Purok Hollow Blocks, Barangay Singcang-Airport.
Operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Police Station 8, led by Maj. Rondyl Tapang, arrested suspects identified only by the aliases “Joaquin” and “Mark.” Both were classified as high-value individuals but were not included in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) watch list.
Authorities recovered about 550 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P3.74 million.
Hours later, at around 1 a.m. on July 3, another buy-bust operation was conducted in Barangay 12 by the SDET of Police Station 1, headed by Maj. Eugene N. Tolentino, in coordination with the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU).
The operation led to the arrest of alias “Ernesto,” 44, another high-value individual who was likewise not included in the BADAC watch list.
Recovered from the suspect were about 1.2 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P8.16 million.
The three suspects will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Rebadomia said the successful operations reflect the BCPO’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and its commitment to making Bacolod City safer and free from narcotics./PN
