BACOLOD City – Police authorities will be coordinating with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency about the sexual assault case involving a minor in this city.
After careful examination of the video that has circulated on social media platforms, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) found out that one of the suspects was smoking a pipe before the incident.
Lieutenant Colonel Ronnie Brillo, BCPO spokesperson and deputy director for operations, said they will conduct an investigation to determine the nature of the pipe.
However, Brillo emphasized that they have not monitored the presence of party drugs in the city.
Brillo added that they will deepen their investigation of the restobar involved and find out how the establishment failed to recognize that they were serving alcoholic drinks to minors.
Last week, Barangay 7 chairperson Hercy Sibug said they would recommend the closure of the restobar where a Criminology student allegedly molested a minor on Dec. 8.
Captain Glenn Montaño, BCPO Police Station 2 commander, said based on the complaint they received, the incident allegedly took place at a restobar on 17th Lacson Street in Barangay 7.
Montaño added that the victim only became aware of the incident upon seeing the video.
Charges for rape under Republic Act (RA) 8353 and RA 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, have already been filed against the suspect. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
