BCPO seizes over P1-M ‘shabu,’ arrests two women in buy-bust

BACOLOD City — Police seized more than P1 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested two women during a buy-bust operation in Barangay 8 here on May 8.

The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said the operation was conducted at about 11:11 a.m. in Purok Narra Baybay by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), with assistance from the City Intelligence Unit and Police Station 2.

The suspects were identified only by their aliases “Ning,” 30, and “Nik,” 20, both residents of the barangay.

Police classified Ning as a high-value target while Nik was tagged as a street-level suspect involved in illegal drug activities.

Seized during the operation were approximately 160 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1,088,000. Also recovered were 13 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item; a knot-tied plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu; P1,000 in marked money; and other non-drug items.

According to PRO-NIR, intelligence reports gathered by BCPO operatives indicated the suspects’ alleged involvement in illegal drug activities in barangays 6, 8, 10, and 12 in Bacolod City.

The suspects are now under police custody, facing charges for violating Sections 5, 11, and 26 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
