BACOLOD City — Police seized approximately P2.4 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested four individuals, including a 17-year-old boy, in two separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City on September 28.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported that the operations yielded approximately 355 grams of suspected shabu with a combined estimated value of P2.414 million.
The first operation was conducted by Police Station 1 at around 6:43 p.m. in Buena Park Subdivision, Barangay Estefania, resulting in the arrest of an 18-year-old man.
Authorities confiscated approximately 75 grams of suspected shabu valued at P510,000.
Recovered during the operation were one large sachet identified as the alleged buy-bust item, two knot-tied packages and four large sachets containing suspected shabu, along with buy-bust money and a coin purse.
An hour later, at around 7:43 p.m., personnel of Police Station 8 conducted another buy-bust operation in Barangay Singcang-Airport, resulting in the arrest of three individuals, including the 17-year-old boy.
Police classified one of the suspects as a high-value individual and the two others as street-level individuals. None of the three was listed by the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.
The operation yielded approximately 280 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P1.904 million, based on the standard drug price of P6,800 per gram.
Authorities also recovered the alleged buy-bust item, four knot-tied plastic bags and six additional sachets containing suspected shabu, as well as a belt bag, buy-bust money and a silver Nissan Terra allegedly used in the illegal drug transaction.
The arrested suspects face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The case involving the minor will be handled in accordance with applicable juvenile justice laws.
BCPO director Colonel Eugene Rebadomia said the operations form part of the police office’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and efforts to dismantle drug-related activities in Bacolod City.
The BCPO reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law, observing proper police procedures and protecting communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs.
It also encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report suspected illegal activities through appropriate and lawful channels.
