THE LONG road to marital bliss finally reached its end for actress Bea Alonzo as she and businessman Vincent Co tied the knot without much fanfare on Monday night in Makati City.
The intimate wedding was officiated by Makati mayor Nancy Binay, who posted her picture with the actress on Facebook on Tuesday, July 14.
“Kinasal ko na po sila! Congratulations & Best wishes Vincent & Bea,” said the former senator in her posts.
Earlier, a source of INQUIRER Entertainment confirmed Alonzo and Co’s civil wedding took place on July 13 at Binay’s office. The source further said the parents of the newlyweds were not present during the union, and only four friends of the couple were there.
The actress and Co, heir to the Puregold retail empire, came to the mayor’s office on their own, with the bride dressed in a simple cream suit dress, while the groom was in a short-sleeved barong.
Alonzo and Co recently purchased an apartment in Rockwell, Makati prior to their supposed wedding in Spain last May 14, making them official Makati residents.
Their purported Spanish wedding, touted as what could have been the wedding of the year in showbiz and business standards, reportedly did not push through because of disagreements in certain provisions in their prenuptial contracts.
Prior to this, the billionaire actress and the scion to the Puregold retail empire were reported to have planned a church wedding in Manila, but that too appeared to be a ploy in order to keep their nuptials away from prying eyes.
Amid speculations on their relationship, the couple powered through to give love another chance, choosing forever with each other. (Evangeline Valderrama © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
