BELISON, Antique – Barangay Rombang is on a 14-day lockdown in a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Mayor Christopher Piccio ordered the lockdown effective April 26 after the village recorded six COVID-19 cases.
Fourteen residents were subjected to antigen tests for having direct exposure to a COVID-19 patient and six of them tested positive in a subsequent confirmatory reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test.
“Proactive measures are necessary to ensure the utmost protection of the health of Belisongons,” stressed Piccio.
The lockdown will be until May 10 unless lifted earlier or extended.
Piccio also ordered “surveillance, risk assessment, contact tracing and containment of the spread of virus.”
While Barangay Rombang is on lockdown:
* only one family member shall be permitted to go in and out of the barangay to acquire their basic necessities
* the Municipal Health Office will conduct random testing (antigen or RT-PCR)
* only authorized persons outside residence and one member of the family shall be given a quarantine pass to acquire their needs outside, provided that they will surrender one valid ID on the entry/exit point of the barangay; quarantine pass will be provided by the person in charge in the barangay border; upon return, the said shall be surrendered in the barangay border in charge
* curfew from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
* persons below 18 years old and above 65 years old, those with immunodeficiency, comorbidity, or other health risks, pregnant women must stay home except when absolutely necessary
* sports activities, parties, assemblies, meetings, conferences, other recreational activities and other similar undertakings are suspend/PN
