ILOILO – “Kung maganda ang working place mo, maganda rin ang service na ibibigay mo sa mga tao.”
A good working environment results to better service, according to Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan as he confirmed the planned transfer of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) headquarters from Santa Barbara, Iloilo to the component city of Passi.
He recently inspected the site where a new IPPO headquarters would be constructed together with Police Colonel Gilbert Gorero, the new police director of Iloilo.
Donated by the city government of Passi, the lot is 20,000 square meters – far wider than the 6,680-square meter Camp Francisco Sumagaysay in Santa Barbara where the IPPO is currently based.
According to Pamuspusan, Camp Sumagaysay could no longer be expanded.
“Two months from now, the Police Security and Protection Group regional office will be moving to their new building in Camp Sumagaysay, so we need a wider area for the IPPO,” he revealed.
Pamuspusan thanked Mayor Stephen Palmares of Passi City for the lot donation.
“We truly appreciate the local government unit of Passi City. The transfer of the IPPO would greatly improve the police service we provide to the Ilonggos,” he said.
Pamuspusan said Passi City is an ideal relocation site for the IPPO. The city is at the center of the province, thus equally accessible to all towns, he explained.
“We need to move our offices to strategic locations to be nearer the public we serve,” stressed the regional police director.
