MANILA – The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday confirmed the arrest of alleged “Ang Totoong Narcolist” uploader, a series of video tagging President Rodrigo Duterte’s family and friends in the illegal drug trade.

Atty. Charito Zamora, DOJ’s cybercrime officer-in-charge, confirmed the man was arrested for cyber libel.

Zamora clarified on Thursday that the National Bureau of Investigation arrested not “Bikoy” but the video uploader.

“The guy arrested by the NBI was the one who uploaded the ‘Bikoy videos’, not Bikoy himself,” Zamora said. “No other details were immediately available pending the report of the NBI.”

DOJ secretary Menardo Guevarra said the uploader was arrested after a search warrant was served from a Metro Manila court.

In a series of videos online, “Bikoy” tagged Presidential son Paolo Duterte and senatorial candidate Christopher “Bong” Go of their supposed drug-tainted bank accounts.

However, Sen. Panfilo Lacson believed “Bikoy” was not alone with his accusations against Duterte, Go, and Presidential son-in-law Manases Carpio to illegal drug trade.

“Bikoy was obviously not acting alone. And the Palace wants to unmask who are the people behind him. ‘Yun ang nag-aarouse ng interest among us,” Lacson said.

“The President has all resources under his disposal. He can mobilize law enforcement agencies, DOJ and other cabinet. Full force,” added Lacson. /PN
