BACOLOD City – A businessman was shot dead in front of a convenience store on Sofia Gonzaga Street in Barangay Estefania around 4 a.m. on Thursday, April 18.
The 49-year-old Elson “Jojo” Cepeda, a resident of East Homes 2, Barangay Estefania, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on his body.
Police Captain Francis Depasucat of Police Station 4 said Cepeda and his wife were onboard a sports utility vehicle and later dropped by a convenience store to buy food.
Upon returning to his vehicle, two unidentified gunmen shot the victim.
Depasucat said the victim was rushed to the Riverside Medical Hospital but was declared “dead on arrival.”
His wife, meanwhile, was unharmed.
