BACOLOD City — A total of 86 personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – Negros Island Region (BJMP-NIR) underwent drug testing as part of the agency’s continuing internal cleansing and integrity measures.
The activity, led by BJMP-NIR director Jail Chief Supt. Brendan O. Fulgencio, was conducted on Feb. 10 at Planta Centro Bacolod Hotel and Residences.
Those tested included members of the Command Group, division chiefs, section heads, jail wardens and acting wardens, officers-in-charge, and other regional office personnel across the NIR.
The drug testing was carried out simultaneously with an ongoing conference and proceeded smoothly, with full cooperation from all participants. Nurses from the Health Service Division supervised the proper handling and processing of specimens in accordance with standard protocols.
BJMP-NIR reported that all 86 personnel who underwent testing yielded negative results.
The regional office said the initiative underscores the bureau’s commitment to integrity, professionalism, and accountability in public service.
It emphasized that maintaining a drug-free workplace is essential to disciplined leadership and the effective delivery of quality service to the community./PN
