THE upcoming Marvel movie “Black Widow” has joined the number of film releases that have been delayed due to concerns over the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a statement on Tuesday, Walt Disney Co said that it has postponed the May 1 theatrical release of “Black Widow” to a future date because of the virus outbreak everywhere around the world.
It also announced that it will delay the premieres of movies “The Personal Histories of David Copperfield” and “The Woman in the Window.” Both films had been scheduled to open on May 8 and May 15, respectively.
The company did not give a new release date for all three movies.
“Black Widow,” which follows the story of what happened to Natasha Romanoff between the end of “Captain America: Civil War” and the beginning of “Avengers: Infinity War,” stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh and Rachel Weisz.
Other movie releases that have been delayed due to concerns on the pandemic, include the latest James Bond film “No Time To Die,” the ninth installment in the “Fast and Furious” film franchise, Paramount Pictures’ “A Quiet Place II,” and Sony Pictures’ “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.”(Push)
