ILOILO City – A boardinghouse tenant in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao attempted to stab a fellow tenant, a police report showed.
The 48-year-old Julio Ester was arrested and detained at the district police station.
Police said Ester was drunk when he had an altercation with Mary Angelique Dela Cruz, 35, at around 11 p.m. on Sept. 13.
It was not immediately clear what the altercation was about but Ester got so pissed he grabbed a 12-inch knife and tried to stab Dela Cruz, the police report stated.
Dela Cruz shouted for help from her father, Enrique. That was when Ester hurriedly hid in one of the rooms, police said.
Resident Rolando Salarda and barangay tanod Ramil Salpin arrested Ester and turned him over to the Mandurriao police./PN
