
BACOLOD City – Bobcats and RGG Farms kept their unbeaten slates in the 15-and-Under category of the 4th Chairman’s Cup Negros held at the Msgr. John Liu Activity Center here.
The Bobcats seized solo lead in Bracket B following a thrilling 65-60 overtime win against Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS). The Bobcats improved to 2-0, while BTTHS dropped to 2-1.
Vincent De La Cruz and PJ Rasmo led the Bobcats with 12 points apiece, while Angelo Neal Villoso chipped in eight points. BTTHS was powered by Jared Buñol’s 16 points, and Seth Guarino’s 12.
RGG Farms also improved to 2-0, cruising past Bacolod Trinity Christian School (BTCS), 78-67. Iñigo Jamon led the charge with 21 points, while Nicus Robert Calma added 18 points.
In other 15U action, Talisay Sharks barged into the win column with a dominant 86-63 win over Negros Youth Basketball Club (NYBC). Bruce Gecaraya finished with 17, while teammate Alvin Bosico added 10 points.
Nonoy’s also recorded its first victory, defeating TSIDKENU 58-48. Christian ApilApil led Nonoy’s with 20 points.
In the 17-and-Under Category, St. Sebastian International School (SSIS) completed a sweep of the elimination round in Bracket B, defeating Team Spartans in dominant fashion, 56-35.
Shaun Estocado was named Player of the Game, finished with 16 points, an teammate Sam Hady Ashour added 13. Vince Buensuceso led the Spartans with 13 points, all in the first half.
Talisay Sharks (1-2) secured their first win with a hard-fought 74-68 victory over NYBC. John Joseph Gerardo delivered a standout performance with 29 points, supported by Klyde Malaga’s 14.
Colegio de San Agustin-Bacolod (CSAB), on the other hand, tied BTTHS atop the Bracket A standings with a 3-0 record after a 65-51 win over University of Negros Occidental (UNO-R).
Rasheim Rojas led CSAB with 16 points, and France Andre Danio added 9. UNO-R was paced by Lexanne Pabilla with 11 points and Lebron Garde with 10.
University of St. La Salle (USLS) clinched second place in their group at 2-1 following a convincing 79-50 victory over C&C Café. John Paul Cabayao led USLS with 19 points./PN
