THE BOHOL Council of Lions Presidents announced this week the holding of the 3rd District Convention of Lions Clubs International-District 301-B2 on March 07, 2026, at the Bohol Tropics Resort in Tagbilaran City. This event will gather Lions from across the district for a day of fellowship, inspiration, and service-oriented discussions. International Director Yeow Wah Chin from Malaysia will join the event as a special guest speaker. A Safari Night-themed fellowship is also planned to cap the event, promising an enjoyable and memorable experience for all!
The Council of Presidents serves as a unifying body that coordinates and harmonizes the efforts of the different Lions Clubs in Bohol. Through collaboration and shared leadership, the Council strengthens fellowship, ensures effective planning of district activities, and upholds the goals and directions of Lions Clubs International at the local level.
Ammon Tirol, a three-term club president of the Tagbilaran City Host Lions Club, warmly anticipates that the March 2026 convention will be another fruitful event for Lions District 301-B2. “The Lions District 301-B2 Convention is a regular quarterly gathering, held on a rotating basis among select cities within the district. Lions District 301-B2 covers clubs across the provinces of Cebu, Leyte, Negros Oriental, and Samar, fostering unity and collaboration among Lions leaders and members in the region,” Tirol said.
At its core, Lionism is about selfless service, compassion, and unity. With the motto, “We Serve,” Lions help the less fortunate and nurture peace and understanding within the community and around the world. Lions are encouraged to lead by example and uphold ethical values in both their personal and professional lives. It should be noted that the Lions International theme of “Lead to Serve, Serve to Lead” is the guiding principle for all Lions Clubs worldwide.
The excitement is building up! According to Steve Galvan, MJF, 2022-2024 president of the Bohol Island Lions Club, and currently, Region Chair for Zone 5 District 301-B2, “Looking back as a Past President, I am reminded that our greatest legacy is not what we achieved alone, but what we built together.” He added that he hopes the 3rd District Convention will continue with heart, unity, and service.
On the other hand, Bohol Lady Lions Club Past President Caroline Lungay Rubillar stressed, “Leadership is not measured by the title we hold, but by the lives we touch and the values we leave behind. As Past President of the Bohol Lady Lions Club, I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to have served with dedication, compassion, and unity.” She looks forward to joining the District Convention in March 2026, where we can “continue to strengthen our fellowship, renew our commitment to service, and carry our shared mission forward,” Rubillar added.
Immediate Past Council President Juvy Sarmiento Lim, PMJF, enthusiastically invites every Lions Club member from District 301-B2 to join the event, humbly reassuring that Bohol’s famous hospitality will take center stage, because as she emphasized, “When we host, we do not merely open our doors, but also showcase our service and the trademark Boholano hospitality, strengthen our bonds, and renew our purpose as Lions.
