MANILA — TNT Tropang 5G import Bol Manute Bol has surged ahead in the race for the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup Best Import award after posting dominant all-around numbers in the elimination round.
The high-scoring reinforcement topped all imports with 59.4 statistical points (SPs) behind impressive per-game averages of 38.2 points, 14.7 rebounds, 4.3 blocks, and 1.7 assists, emerging as the clear frontrunner entering the playoffs.
Trailing Bol in the statistical race is San Miguel Beermen import Bennie Boatwright, who produced 53.4 SPs on averages of 32.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.
NLEX Road Warriors reinforcement Cady Lalanne placed third with 50.6 SPs, followed by Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings’ Justin Brownlee with 50.3 SPs and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters import Jayson Johnson with 47.8 SPs.
Completing the Top 10 in the Best Import derby are Blackwater Bossing’s Robert Upshaw (47.2), Phoenix Fuel Masters’ Jonathan Williams (46.7), Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots’ Clint Chapman (45.8), Terrafirma Dyip’s Mubashar Ali (42.7), and Meralco Bolts’ Marvin Jones (42.2).
Meanwhile, NLEX Road Warriors star Robert Bolick Jr. climbed to the top of the Best Player of the Conference (BPC) race after steering his team to the No. 1 seed at the end of the eliminations.
Bolick amassed 41.9 SPs to overtake San Miguel superstar June Mar Fajardo, Barangay Ginebra guard RJ Abarrientos, Phoenix Fuel Masters standout Ricci Rivero, and Magnolia forward Xavier Lucero.
The veteran playmaker averaged 20.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game while also leading the league in assists during the elimination round.
Fajardo remained close behind with 39.5 SPs, while Abarrientos occupied third spot with 37.5 SPs. Rivero ranked fourth with 34.9 SPs and Lucero rounded out the Top 5 with 33.5 SPs.
Also making the Top 10 in the BPC race were Terrafirma’s Jerrick Ahanmisi, Barangay Ginebra’s Earl Scottie Thompson, San Miguel’s Jaymar Perez, NLEX guard Deschon Winston, and Meralco swingman CJ Cansino./PN
