I’M STILL not very sure about my next big writing project/s.
I mean, there’s still the Contemporary Arts from the Regions textbook that I have to finish.
And by the time that’s done, I’m pretty sure it would be time again for revision or final edits of the 21stCentury Literature textbook manuscript that I finished in May.
But since these are more technical writing, I don’t really worry about them.
I know I can work with deadlines, and the demands are rather different, if not easier, than imaginative writing.

I still want to release a new volume of my Hiligaynon stories.
I’m pretty much done with the typesetting of all the stories I wanted to include in the book.
I might need to review them once more before doing the book layout, but it’s like 99 percent done from my end.
I have asked a good friend if he’d be willing to write an introduction, and he accepted.
So, I’m basically just waiting for his output now.
Once he turns that in, I can do a quick read over my stories, and proceed to design the book for publication.

Also in the works is the Purple Cat trilogy as one volume.
Because these memoirs were first published before 1999, I don’t have the book files anymore.
Remember those floppy disks?
Well, I haven’t really converted my original files to newer saving systems so I had to typeset everything again.
The good news is I’ve finished typesetting them
But they will also need a quick read over.

And just because I’m republishing the three books this year, which is more than 20 years after they first came out, I’ve decided to ask newer writers to review them, and write introductions for the millennial readers.
I’ve decided to have three readers; and therefore, three intros — one for each book.
Of the three intros I need, two have already been turned in, and they’re pretty good.
So, I’m just waiting for the last one.
Once that’s turned in, I’ll probably spend a day to review the files.
And another day to design and layout the book.

Well, that’s the four projects for me right now: two textbooks, two updates (or second editions, if you will).
But since they’re almost done deals, I’m actually itching to do something more before the year is over.
I have considered a poetry book, a novel, and a how-to book.
Reviewing the online writing workshops that I have been giving since 2014, I think that I should be ready to write a slim volume of writing advice for new writers.

And I don’t really recycle my lectures.
I may repeat ideas (I can only have so much to say about a certain topic), but they should be phrased differently.
I mean, I have to check to be sure.
Until this time, I have not really compared my notes.
But I’m pretty sure I have ample to say about creative writing.
If it happens, I understand that the book won’t be for everyone.
But I know it will help some people.

In my “Poets And Writers International” group page on Facebook, I have already put some teasers that need explication.
Wannabe writers love them.
And I have discussed some of them in my poetry and fiction talks.
But they need to be expanded for the book.
*
I feel that if I dedicate some time to annotate them, they’ll be pretty useful.
Well, I wanna play with my short posts on my online page for a while.
If you are still with me, read on!
Who knows what you might learn.

Here’s a teaser for Friday:
