BORACAY – Police rounded up minors violating Municipal Ordinance No. 212, or the curfew ordinance, in this island resort.
The Boracay Tourist Assistance Center found the minors wandering in bars and in the beach past 10 p.m., which is the start of the curfew until 5 a.m. the next day.
Some were building sandcastles and yet some were with their parents collecting garbage.
Police brought them to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office Crisis Intervention Unit for counseling.
After which, they were returned to their parents and/or guardians.
Eight children were rounded up on Sept. 21, police said.
Moreover, police have been rescuing Aetas and Badjaos found asking for alms as part of the intensified enforcement of the Anti-Mendicancy Law in the island. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
