BORACAY – This island resort is one of the top 10 islands in Asia, according to the travel website TripAdvisor.
TripAdvisor placed Boracay on the seventh spot in the 2017 Travelers’ Choice Awards.
According to the website, the 4.5-mile long island resort is “small enough to navigate by rented bicycle or motorbike.”
“But don’t let its small size fool you — you’ll have several excellent beaches to choose from,” TripAdvisor said. “Yapak Beach is known for beautiful white shells, White Beach has picture-perfect sunsets, and Balinghai Beach is a secluded spot, perfect for honeymooners.”
“As long as you visit during dry season, you’ll agree this is one of the best beach destinations in the world,” it added.
Bali Indonesia holds the top spot, while Thailand’s largest island Phuket came second.
Ko Samul off the east coast of Surat Thani province in Thailand took the third spot, Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand got fourth place, and Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia ranked fifth.
Gili Trawangan in Gili Islands, Indonesia landed on sixth place, while Langkawi in Malaysia took the eighth place. Havelock Island in Andaman and Nicobar Islands were ninth, and Taketomicho Iriomote-Jima in Yaeyama-gun, Japan was 10th. (With Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
