Boracay police task force deactivated

MALAY, Aklan – The Police Regional Office Region 6 (PRO-6) has deactivated its police substation in Boracay Island.

The Metro Boracay Police Task Force (MBPTF) will be absorbed by 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Robert Petate.

With its deactivation on April 29, MBPTF’s area of responsibility will be now under the jurisdiction of Malay police station.

The police task force was activated last Feb. 12, 2018, two months before Boracay Island’s closure.

It played a major role in Project Boracay Enhanced Security and Strategy Tactics to establish disciplined zones in the fame island resort. (With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
