ILOILO City — Boracay Island drew 225,030 visitors in April 2026, underscoring the continued strength of tourism in the country’s premier beach destination in Malay, Aklan.
Figures from the Malay Municipal Tourism Office showed that local tourists made up the largest share of arrivals with 195,459 visitors. Foreign tourists reached 27,312, while 2,259 were overseas Filipinos.
The April turnout surpassed the 195,487 tourist arrivals recorded during the same month last year, indicating sustained growth in travel activity on the island.
Tourism records in recent years also reflected Boracay’s steady recovery and expansion following the pandemic slowdown. The island registered over 2.07 million arrivals in 2024 after posting around 2.15 million visitors in 2023.
By 2025, visitor numbers climbed again to more than 2.15 million, with domestic tourism remaining the primary driver of growth.
Local tourism officials earlier projected that Boracay could reach 2.3 million arrivals in 2026 as tourism promotions, events, and infrastructure improvements continue to attract travelers.
