ILOILO City – A six-year-old boy drowned in the swimming pool of a resort at Smallville Complex in Mandurriao district here.
Alexander Delay of Barangay San Isidro, La Paz district was recovered at the bottom of the pool of El Dorado Waterpark, West Town Hotel in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao around 2:50 p.m. on Monday, May 10.
Police Chief Master Sergeant Christopher Juarez, investigator on the case, said the boy was with his mother and other relatives relaxing at the waterpark.
Later, his mother sought help of lifeguards because she could no longer find her son.
The boy was found at the bottom of the pool for adults, not kids.
The child was rushed to the Medicus Medical Center but the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
This was not the first time a child drowned at El Dorado’s pool, reports showed.
In May 2010, five-year-old Kurt Calero of Barangay Pungtod, Cabatuan, Iloilo was found dead in one of the pools.
Calero’s body was discovered shortly after he allegedly got separated from his 15-year-old companion./PN
