ILOILO – Keeping suspected shabu behind her bra did not help.
A woman and her live-in partner were arrested in an antidrug operation in Barangay Aurora-del Pilar (Poblacion), Dumangas town.
Elizabeth Carton, 39, and Ruel Fuentespina, 35, yielded 14 plastic packs of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P6,000.
These were on top of the plastic pack of similar substance they delivered to an undercover police officer around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Carton was from Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz, Iloilo City while Fuentespina was a native of Barangay Tabucan, Dumangas.
Both were detained in the lockup cell of the Dumangas police station.
They “never stayed here (in Dumangas),” said Chief Inspector Rene Obregon, municipal police chief. “Most of the time they were in Bacolod City.”
From Bacolod where they got their supply, they arrived at the Dumangas port at 8 p.m. for the transaction, Obregon said.
A female officer frisked Carton and seized six plastic packs of suspected shabu from inside her bra and three more from her pants’ pocket. Fuentespina, meanwhile, yielded five plastic packs of the same substance.
“They sell only when they get orders,” said Obregon. “They are drug users, too.”
Two years ago, Fuentespina’s brother Ramil was arrested for the same offense.
Police believe Fuentespina took over the business from the latter./PN
