ILOILO City – A 44-year-old farmer had been killed. His two younger brothers were the suspects in his death.
Jose John Santilantan of Barangay Taslan, San Joaquin, Iloilo died of hack and stab wounds on the body, a police report stated.
His brothers Victor, 43, and Dalmacio, 25, were arrested.
They were inside their house at around 9 p.m. Wednesday when the drunken Santilantan arrived, wielding a bolo and knife, stated the police report.
From what police investigators have so far gathered, Victor grabbed a “hard object” and struck Santilantan on the head.
Dalmacio, on the other hand, snatched the latter’s weapons and used them in hacking and stabbing the victim, police said.
The younger brothers told the police they did not plan to kill their brother but got angry at him for creating trouble whenever he gets drunk.
Victor and Dalmacio said they regret what they did to their older brother.
Both suspects were detained at the San Joaquin police station./PN
