2 men stabbed; suspects arrested

BACOLOD City – Two men were stabbed in separate incidents in Calatrava town and Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental.

Danilo Danoso, 25, of Barangay Suba, Calatrava sustained a stab wound on the left chest, said Chief Inspector Robert Dejucos, municipal police head.

Danoso was rushed to the Calatrava District Hospital and later transferred to the San Carlos City Hospital.

On the other hand Joeren Pancho of Barangay Talaban, Himamaylan City sustained a stab wound on the left side of the body.

The 18-year-old was taken to the Gov. Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial District Hospital and later moved to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, said Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez Jr., Himamaylan police head.

Danoso was attacked at around 12:30 a.m. Thursday in Barangay Suba, police said.

Investigators have identified a suspect: Joseph Valencia, 32, of Barangay Refugio. Police have arrested him but investigation into the motive continues as of this writing.

Mark Ghofulpo, 31, of Barangay 1, Himamaylan City was tagged as suspect in stabbing Pancho. Police have arrested him as well.

The stabbing happened during a commotion between two groups at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Rizal Street, Barangay 1, Himamaylan City, police said./PN
