ILOILO City – A former overseas Filipino worker and two others were arrested in a buy-bust operation of the police in Arevalo district on Aug. 11.
Five sachets of suspected shabu were recovered.
Weigh around 9.4 grams, these had an estimated market value of P63,920.
Christine Marie “Cute” Mucho was a 32-year-old widow with two children. A resident of Barangay Concepcion, City Proper, she formerly worked as a domestic helper in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Two more suspects were arrested – Jean Robles, 28, of Deca Homes residential subdivision in Pavia, Iloilo; and Merelle Rubino, 27, of Barangay Boulevard, Molo.
The operation was conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team – 6 (SDET- 6) and Arevalo police station led by Police Major Chen Tañagras.
Mucho denied selling shabu but admitted to being a user.
Also recovered from the buy-bust were aluminum foil and lighter, among others.
All the suspects were detained at the Arevalo police station.
Charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 would be filed against them./PN
