ANTIQUE – Gov. Rhoroda Cadiao extended her gratitude to the provincial government employees after her congressional bid failed.

Cadiao was defeated by incumbent Cong. Antonio Agapito “AA” Bautista Legarda Jr., with the latter holding a significant lead.

“To all provincial government employees — thank you for the years of hard work, loyalty, and service. You were the driving force behind every success of my administration. Together, we lifted Antique to first-class status,” Cadiao told the capitol employees yesterday.

She added: “Though my chapter in public office is coming to an end, my love for Antique and its people will always remain. I will continue to serve in my own ways — as a tumanduk, as an Antiqueña who will always care.”

Also, in a Facebook post yesterday, Cadiao paid tribute to all Antiqueños who supported her all these years.

With 97.67 percent of election returns processed as of 4:18 p.m. yesterday, Legarda secured his seat with 205,559 votes while Cadiao only got 117,700 votes.

Earlier on Monday night, May 12, Legarda issued his official statement extending his gratitude to those who continued to believe in him and backed his reelection bid.

He likewise credited his success to his elder sister, Sen. Loren Legarda.
