BACOLOD City – A man was shot to death in Barangay Malatas, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
The 35-year-old resident Joseph Lumanog sustained gunshot wounds on the head and neck, a police report showed.
According to police investigators, Lumanog was driving a truck loaded with sugarcane along with his companions when they were flagged down by five assailants clad in camouflages around 4 p.m. on April 14.
Then, one of the suspects fired at Lumanog after the victim answered his question.
Lumanog was brought to the Calatrava District Hospital where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
As of this writing, officers of the Calatrava municipal police station have yet to identify the suspects and the motive in the killing./PN
